Art a Loo

July 28th, 2010

So painted a Port-a-Loo for great cause for sale here – Support it !!

Some info below on the event -

To support and encourage those living with Crohn’s and Colitis, four established and emerging New Zealand artists have created an exquisite exhibition to raise awareness of the daily challenges Crohn’s and Colitis sufferers face.

Due to the symptoms of bowel inflammation, Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis sufferers often desperately need toilets. CCNZ is using Art-a-loo to raise awareness of those who have experienced more toilets than anyone else and to do so in an uplifting way.

YOU CAN BUY YOUR VERY OWN ART-A-LOO!!

Featured on TVNZ Breakfast on 29th July, the Art-a-loos are truly unique pieces of art that will never be replicated. Component’s Art-a loo captures the idea of a toilet being a beacon for people who live with Crohn’s. X Marks the Spot uses imagery and typography to make the Art-a loo represent the reality of life for so many people with Crohn’s and colitis. This piece also has an internal light which emits a glow through the roof and walls.

More photos coming! You can see this Art-a-loo displayed at Te Papa over the weekend 30 July – 1 August!

ALL PROCEEDS OF THIS AUCTION WILL GO TO CROHN’S AND COLITIS NEW ZEALAND (CCNZ) TO SUPPORT SUFFERERS OF CROHN’S DISEASE AND ULCERATIVE COLITIS.
